Email Setup

You can access your email account with many of the popular email clients, such as Netscape Messanger, Eudora, or Outlook, or any other client that supports the IMAP protocol.

General Information

When setting up any email client, you will be asked for generic information such as your name and email address. Also, you will be asked for the incoming and outgoing mail servers. For the incoming server, there's usually 2 types to choose from: POP or IMAP. You need to select IMAP-type server, and use mail.clusterspan.net as the server address. For user name you need to use your full email address (ie. me@here.com, not just me ). For the outgoing server (sometimes referred to as an SMTP server), enter whatever SMTP/outgoing server your ISP gave you (ie. could be something like smtp.someisp.com).

Specific Instructions

Some clients do not fully implement the IMAP protocol, and need to be told extra information. If, after you configure your account, you're having any problems with folders (ie. cannot create new folders), look for something called "personal namespace" or "root folder path", and try entering "INBOX" or "INBOX." in that field (without the quotes).
